support quinn and the johnny mercer foundation
Greetings it’s Quinn Lemley.
I hope you’re enjoying this holiday season. Exciting news! I’ve just completed recording the album of the music from our critically acclaimed show, Rita Hayworth – The Heat Is On! Complete with a swinging Big Band.
After years of touring the show, it‘s a dream for me to create the official recording of these classic songs from The Great American Songbook that were the soundtrack to Rita Hayworth’s life as well as my own.
People come into our lives for a reason. Last spring, I was introduced to Jonathan Brielle, an incredible Broadway composer/songwriter who happens to own Brielle Recording Studio. I started this project to capture the live show on a recording. In the journey, we decided the project deserved to make it a world-class record.
With Jonathan’s guidance as producer, we have reimagined these classics from the Golden Age of Hollywood for a state-of-the-art recording by some of the greatest composers of our time: Roger & Hart’s Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered, Johnny Mercer’s That Old Black Magic, I’m Old Fashioned and Accentuate the Positive.
The album is titled: QUINN LEMLEY
REMEMBERING RITA HAYWORTH
Here’s a short sample to listen to That’s All from the album
Ironically, Jonathan is the president of VALA and VALA’s Education Wing, the executive vice president of The Johnny Mercer Foundation. The JMFoffers “Accentuate The Positive” (ATP), a 501c3 program that serves underserved schools K-12 in NYC to provide free classes in musical theater and songwriting. As government support for the arts has dwindled and is woefully underfunded, its support of arts programs in the schools has made it impossible for public schools to provide arts programs and is the first to be cut.
On this album, we are partnering with the JMF and Vala’s Education Wing to bring the Great American Songbook, the power of music, and collaboration into the lives of kids.
We are raising $75,000.00 of which half will support making the QUINN LEMLEY REMEMBERING RITA HAYWORTH album and half to the JMF Accentuate The Positive Program for kids in NYC.
The JMF and Vala Education Wing are a 501c3 program. Be a part of this incredible experience that changes lives through the power of music. Bring the gift of music into the NYC school systems and create a beautiful album by donating to the JMF. All donations, regardless of size, are tax-deductible.
Give the gift of music this holiday season!
Thank you for your generous support, and Happy Holidays!
Xoxo Quinn
